Since there are no substantive issues raised during the Last Call this
document is finished.
Rohan I believe it is now up to you to request the document be approved by
the SIPForum Board of Directors.

Subject: Restart SIPforum last call on SIPConnect
A number of folks have asked the authors and the chair when the
SIPConnect specification is going to be made "final".
The answer is that the actual text of the Recommendation is final as far
as the WG is concerned. But the procedure in the SIPForum for making
it final requires at least two interoperable implementations.
We are now identifying, and collecting the test data, to show we have
these interoperable implementations.
But, we (the Task Group) didn't quite follow the procedures for the actual
document approval, as dictated by Forum process. This process
dictates that after the WG finishes its last call, the Chair of the Task
Group
submits the Recommendation to the Tech Working group chair for approval
who then in turn formally presents it to the SIPForum Board of Directors
for approval.
We did not do that. < sorry >
After discussion with the authors the chair has decided to restart the
working group last call on the final draft listed below beginning today Wed
October 17 for 2 weeks. Then, submit up the chain as required by process.
The "normal" purpose of a working group Last Call is in the style of "speak
now or forever hold your peace" in case there are fundamental objections
which have not gotten previous or adequate discussion, or minor errors
which need correction.
However, since this document has been under extensive discussion
throughout 2005 and 2006, I prefer that comments on THIS version
be held to a bare minimum (so as not to need to repeat this last-call),
and then make any real revisions either a 1.1 or 2.0 version of
SIPConnect, which we can (and should) begin work on immediately.
If you have requirements for extending the SIP Connect Specification please
put your thinking cap on, and think twice before you post them to this list.
So, this last call will extend from today until Noon Eastern Standard Time
October 31.
Once this procedure is completed we believe the Board of the SIPForum can
vote on adopting the specification ASAP hopefully during VON in Boston.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
The proposed final draft of the IP PBX / SP Interoperability specification
is

This version of the draft incorporates the last bit of feedback received
from the 3/10/2006 - 3/22/2006 comment period.
