Hi Michael,
Thanks for the feedback.
1.2 (2) G711 Codec: I concur. My preference is to offer both uLaw and
Alaw.
1.2. (5) (ptime) This was because I had some issue at a previous SIPIT
with ptime. I'll need to check my notes about the details. The
motivation was to just keep things "minimalist". If it seems too extreme
I'm happy to take it out.
Regards,
Peter

Draft
Hi Peter,
I have a couple of points to mention concerning section 1.2 (SDP
Conventions).
Firstly, item 2 states that the 'Offer MUST contain G711 as a codec'.
G711 comes in two flavours (A-law and u-law), so could you be more
explicit in whether you want one or other or both? There are arguments
for all 3 positions, but clarifying what you expect will probably be a
good start.
Secondly, item 5 states that the 'Offers MUST NOT contain ptime'. I was
wondering what the motivation for this is. As I understand it, RFC4566
states that a ptime line is not binding on the recipient as it 'is
intended as a recommendation'. Are there particular interop problems
associated with allowing it?
Regards,
Michael
