Paulo --
There is no stated "deadline" or date for adoption. Our process for
advancement of recommendations from "Proposed" to "Adopted" (final)
goes like this:
- When the Task Group reaches consensus and goes through Last Call
successfully, a Recommendation moves into Proposed status. It sits
in this status until the next requirement is met. The intent of the
process is that the Recommendation is fully implementable when it
reaches this point.
- To advance to Adopted status, there must be at least 2
implementations of the Recommendation that together (between them)
implement the substantial bulk of the Recommendation, with all "must"
items implemented, and which have demonstrated successful
interoperability at a SIPit event. Once such implementations have
been shown, the Task Group Chair can request the Tech Working Group
(TWG) Chair (Rohan) and the Board to advance the Recommendation from
Proposed to Adopted status.
If, during the implementation stage, experience shows that changes
are required in the Recommendation, the process permits minor
modifications (which again, then, require a last call, but no re-
implementation-testing). If the TWG chair determines the changes to
be major, the chair may require another implementation-demonstration
before recommending the Board advance the Recommendation to Final
status.
We currently plan to make SIPconnect implementation testing a key
focus of SIPit 20, scheduled for this spring. (A date/venue
announcement should be coming in the near future.)
I hope this answers your question.
Cheers
