Dear Full Members --

An Australian publication known as Strategic Path (see attached media
brochure) is seeking to do an interview with a SIP industry insider
in their next issue.

I would like to see if any of our Full Members would like to take
advantage of this opportunity, and provide a spokesman for this
interview. The spokesman *should* be speaking "generally," e.g. as-if
speaking as a member of the SIP Forum. However, of course, as usual,
you should be able to work in a "plug" for your own SIP-based product
(s).

The questions that the editor / writer proposed were:

1) How established is SIP in the current market? What percentage of
businesses choose SIP? Is there a difference in take up between SMEs,
mid-tier and multinationals?
2) Is the standard mature?
3) Do multi-vendor SIP implementations offer interoperability? Has a
lack of interoperability held back the uptake of SIP?
4) What does SIP offer besides interoperability?
5) Most enterprises require conferencing and instant messaging
services alongside VoIP – how does SIP facilitate this? I.e. routing
6) What are the benefits of open-source SIP-based IP PBXs or IP Centrex?
7) VoIP Security is of paramount importance, what user authentication
does SIP allow? What other security benefits does it enable?
8) Finally, what impact has SIP on reassuring CXOs that VoIP offers
quality of service and powerful real time communication?

I get the feeling, however, that the editor / write is seeking
guidance on whether these questions are appropriate, and is flexible
regarding changes.

Any vendor who is interested should RSVP within the next 2-3 days. I
will have a short discussion with each respondent afterwards, and
select the one that seems best suited (e.g. a good match between the
magazine's desires, the vendors goals (which we encourage you to
meet), and the SIP Forum's messaging goals.

Thanks for your prompt response.
Cheers
-jb
